Our History

In 1927, "Taller Mecánico Susano Solís C." was founded by Don Susano Solís Cánovas to meet the repair and maintenance needs of the brewing, bottling and textile industries in the region of Orizaba, Veracruz, Mexico.

In the beginning it was only a machine tool shop.

Later, Mr. Alfredo Solís Lara transformed the company by starting foundry operations using cupola furnaces for gray iron and tilting crucible furnaces for bronzes.

In 1975 the company adopted the name of Fundición y Mecánica Susano Solís, SA de CV - FYMSSSA -, serving mainly the sugar, brewing and paper industries.

In 1990, the first electric induction furnaces were installed, thus entering the carbon and stainless steel market.

New sectors are thus served: pumps and valves, seamless steel pipe, cement, oil and petrochemicals.

With clients in Mexico and abroad, FYMSSSA achieves international reach.

In June 2003, FYMSSSA obtained ISO 9001-2000 Certification from Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI).

Today FYMSSSA has six induction furnaces and the capacity to melt up to eight tons of liquid steel.

More than twenty-five modern machine tools, including CNC equipment, laboratories and state-of-the-art measuring equipment certified for quality control.
